This application is to request Section 5339(c) funds apportioned to the California UZA (060000) in the amount of $6,253,255.
Antelope Valley Transit Authority submits this grant application requesting a total of $6,253,255 in FTA Low or No Emission Competitive Grants Program funding awarded to the California (060000) UZA in 2020.

The local match will be a combination as follows:
- State of California's Heavy Duty Vehicle Incentive Program (HVIP) = $875,000
- AVTA Cash Reserves = $1,157,818

The grant will fund the following projects:
- Bus Expansion: Five (5) 60 ft Articulated Battery Electric Buses (TIP ID# LA9918864 + LA TIP ID# LA9918898)
- Six (6) 30 ft Microtransit On Demand Vehicles (LA TIP ID# LA9918852)
- 11 chargers necessary to charge the buses included in this grant application (LA TIP ID# LA9919086)
Purpose of the Award: To replace older diesel buses that have met or exceeded their useful life with zero-emission battery electric vehicles.
Activities to be Performed: Antelope Valley Transit Authority is requesting $6,253,255 of low or no emission grant funds for the purchase toward five 60 ft articulated buses with a useful life of 12 years and/or 500,000 miles, and six 30 ft buses with a useful life of 10 years and/or 400,000 miles. All vehicles will be battery electric commuter zero-emission. These buses will meet the Clean Air Act standards (CAA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements.
Expected Outcomes: To deploy a fleet of zero-emission battery electric buses to maintain local transit services and establish/maintain a microtransit service in the Antelope Valley.
Intended Beneficiaries: Residents of the greater Antelope Valley region.
Subrecipient Activities: AVTA does not have subrecipients.
