Grant Description
Application purpose: The purpose of this grant is to continue constructing the light rail extension for the South Central Phoenix downtown hub.
Activities performed: The activities to be performed is to continue constructing the approximately 5.5-mile southern extension of Valley Metro's light rail between downtown Phoenix and the South Mountain Village core via Central Avenue and 1st Avenue.
Expected outcomes: The expected outcome is to provide the light rail service to South Phoenix.
Intended beneficiaries: The intended beneficiaries are the transit passengers who need to get from South Phoenix through downtown Phoenix to downtown Tempe, downtown Mesa, or northwest Phoenix.
Subrecipient activities: The recipient does intend to subaward the funds to Valley Metro Rail Inc (METRO).
