Overview
Grant Description
The total request for the grant will be $6,162,346, of which is made up of Federal Fiscal Year 2021 FTA Section 5339 Bus and Bus Facility Formula from Phoenix-Mesa UZA. Grant activities began in July 2021 and will conclude by December 2023. The Federal match is 85% and the local match is 15%, funded from regional sales tax.
The projects receiving the funding are:
- The purchase of four (4) standard 40-foot replacement buses
- Twenty-seven (27) expansion paratransit vans
- Three (3) 30-foot expansion buses
- Four (4) 30-foot (rural) buses
- Nine (9) 30-foot replacement dial-a-ride vehicles
The vehicles will have met their useful life when the buses have been delivered. These buses will meet the Clean Air Act (CAA) standards and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements. We are able to operate and maintain these vehicle replacements at existing operating facilities.
Purpose:
The purpose of this grant is to purchase replacement and expansion vehicles. The vehicles will be 30-foot, standard 40-foot, and 30-foot.
Activities to be performed:
The activities to be performed are to purchase replacement vehicles in 30-foot, 30-foot, and standard 40-foot, as well as expansion 30-foot and 30-foot vehicles.
Expected outcomes:
The expected outcome is to ensure the passengers and operators have vehicles that provide transit service to get them where they are needed.
Intended beneficiaries:
The intended beneficiaries are the passengers and operators who will be utilizing new vehicles to operate and/or ride public transit.
Subrecipient activities:
The recipient does intend to subaward the funds to Regional Public Transportation Authority (RPTA) and City of Peoria.
