Grant Description
This application is to request Section 5339C funds apportioned to the Little Rock AR in the amount of $4,900,000 federal and $843,707 local. This funding was competitively awarded under the FY 2021 Low or No Emission Vehicle Program discretionary ID D2021-LWNO-003.
Purpose:
The purpose of this award is to provide 5 battery electric buses supporting charging infrastructure and training.
Activities to be performed:
Funds will be used to purchase 5 battery electric buses supporting charging infrastructure and training.
Expected outcomes:
This award will introduce battery electric buses into Rock Region Metro's fleet, thereby reducing emissions from transit buses.
Intended beneficiaries:
Residents of Pulaski County will benefit from reduced emissions.
Subrecipient activities:
None.
Local match of $843,707 is from Metro reserves and is board authorized.
Pre-award authority is authorized on the date of award announcement, June 25, 2021, in the amount of $4,900,000 for all activities in this grant. The amount will be shown in the initial FFR.
Rock Region Metro has partnered with Proterra for this project, as permitted by the Consolidated Appropriations Act 2021. Applicants to the Low-No program may submit applications that include partnerships with other entities that intend to participate in the implementation of the project, including but not limited to specific vehicle manufacturers, equipment vendors, owners or operators of related facilities, or project consultants. If an application that involves such a partnership is selected for funding, the competitive selection process will be deemed to satisfy the requirement for a competitive procurement under 49 U.S.C. 5325(A) for the named entities.
