Grant Description
Award Purpose

The purpose of the Rap Hubs is to support the needs of industry in the development and expansion of Raps across a spectrum of sectors and occupations, including the state-identified in-demand industries: healthcare, technology, manufacturing, construction, hospitality, transportation/logistics, and education/childcare.

Activities Performed

(A) Provide incentive funding to support Rap employers.
(B) Connect with local, regional, state, and national employers.
(C) Strengthen a network for partners to develop, implement, and scale Raps.
(D) Develop technical assistance resources for Raps statewide (facilitated by hubs).
(E) Conduct business engagement outreach to promote the value of apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship to employers.
(F) Coordinate and leverage efforts with other Rap hubs.
(G) Promote greater inclusion, diversity, and access in apprenticeship.
(I) Build capacity of the state to better promote and manage apprenticeship.
(J) Partner with existing organization apprenticeship sponsor programs to include underserved areas of the state through outreach and technical support.

Intended Beneficiary

Underserved and/or marginalized communities, including racial minorities, individuals with disabilities, immigrants, refugees, re-entry populations, veterans, as well as employees in non-traditional roles and those that live in rural locations.

Consortium model sponsors, technical resource provisions, promotion of inclusion, diversity, and access in apprenticeships; intermediaries for the development of pre-apprenticeship and Raps.
