Grant Description
Award Purpose

The purpose of this program is to enroll new participants (high school and opportunity youth) into approved registered apprenticeship programs and expand new pre-apprenticeships that will lead to into new RAPs.

Activities Performed

Partnering with three (3) employer sponsors, five (5) school districts, the Kentucky Education and Workforce Development Cabinet, four (4) area development districts, and a state-wide labor union to meet all eligibility requirements for our Category Two (2) proposal. The local/regional geographic scope of the project will be carried out in the counties of Garrard, Johnson, Pulaski, Russell, and Wolfe counties in Kentucky. The overall scope of Navigate is to establish and increase partnerships that commit to expanding previously developed pre-apprenticeship programs which will lead to developing and expanding registered apprenticeship program (RAP) enrollment for our "hard to serve" high school & opportunity youth.

Deliverables

1) Total participants served (cumulative 4-year total): 720.
2) Total participants who enroll in registered apprenticeship programs (cumulative 4-year total): 216.
3) Total number of participants who complete a RAP: 108.
4) Total number of participants who enroll in a pre-apprenticeship served by ABA grant funding: 504.
5) Total number of participants who complete a pre-apprenticeship served by ABA grant funding: 432.

1) Total RAPs created as a result of ABA grant funding: 12.
2) Total RAPs expanded as a result of ABA grant funding: 5.
3) Total pre-apprenticeship programs created as a result of ABA grant funding: 8.
