Grant Description
Award Purpose
The purpose of this program is to establish partnerships with employer sponsors, education providers, workforce boards, and intermediaries to expand RAPs and pre-apprenticeship programs that lead to RAP enrollment for in-school youth (ISY) and out-of-school youth (OSY) with a focus on underrepresented populations and communities.
Activities Performed
Lead development of marketing and outreach strategy and conduct an outreach and recruitment assessment at each of the partners' sites; provide coaching and technical assistance, to build regional intermediary capacity and support registration of pre-apprenticeship programs; deliver training on diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility; build industry-specific pre-app and RA frameworks; co-design curricula relevant to multiple occupations; implement a community of practice to support peer learning; and document the effectiveness of various approaches and disseminate results.

1,000 participants served in total; includes 900 pre-apprentices, at least 300 who enroll in RAPs during life of grant, and an additional 100 participants who enter directly into RAPs.

Subrecipient Activities
Subrecipients will serve as regional intermediaries, convening a local set of committed stakeholders, including employer sponsors, education/training providers, and/or workforce development organizations, to adopt program design elements that meet the needs of ISY and OSY.
