Grant Description
Award Purpose
The purpose of this program is to convene CCS, employers, and workforce development partners as change agents to plan and implement projects that support workforce education and skills training activities, directly connected to the hiring and skills needs of the electric vehicle industry and that result in well-paying quality jobs.
Activities Performed
The EV Hub Program will bring together large-scale employers, community colleges, and regional and national workforce partners to create a scalable model for training and credentialing electric vehicle-related occupations. The program will increase access to EV occupations for individuals who are un(der)employed through pre-apprenticeship and registered apprenticeship programs.
Deliverables
Target (Cum. 4-Yr Total):
1) Total number of RAPs created as a result of ABA grant funding: 0.
2) Total number of RAPs expanded as a result of ABA grant funding: 5.
3) Total number of pre-apprenticeship programs developed as a result of ABA grant funding (as applicable): 0.
4) Total number of pre-apprenticeship programs expanded as a result of ABA grant funding (as applicable): 2.
5) Total number of stakeholders engaged as a result of ABA grant funding: 25.
6) Total number of employers participating in registered apprenticeship receiving incentive funding, including total amount of funds to be awarded in incentive funding, as a result of ABA grant funding: 2.
7) Total number of technical assistance resources created as a result of ABA grant funding: 32.
8) Total number of new sponsors as a result of ABA grant funding: 0.
9) Total number of individuals enrolled in a RAP that was developed using ABA grant funds: 575.
10) Total number of individuals enrolled in a pre-apprenticeship that was developed using ABA grant funds: 300.
Intended Beneficiary
Unemployed, underemployed, and incumbent workers including veterans, and underrepresented populations, including women, people of color, and ex-offenders, and other populations with employment barriers that hinder movement into middle- to high-skilled occupations and industries.
Subrecipient Activities
Employers and community colleges will work together to develop and implement pre-apprenticeship and RAP programs including RI and OJT. National network partners and subject matter experts will provide technical assistance to employers and community colleges to implement the program and meet program outcomes/outputs.
