Grant Description
1. Award Purpose:
To facilitate the detection, regulation of host material, and eradication of Asian Longhorned Beetle in South Carolina.
2. Activities to be performed:
- Delimitation of ALB infestation.
- Assist in removals of infested and high-risk hosts, deregulation of infested materials.
- Outreach and education to communities, industry, and municipalities.
- Survey of high-risk host sites statewide.
- Training of staff and implementation of quality assurance protocols.
3. Deliverables and Expected Outcomes:
- Identify the present range of ALB in South Carolina.
- Identify avenues of introduction and spread.
- Prevent future introductions and spread.
- Ultimately eradicate ALB from SC.
4. Intended Beneficiary(ies):
Industry, public, municipalities.
5. Subrecipient activities, if known or specified at the time of award:
Contract surveyors, marshalling yard - recipient to be determined.
