Overview
Grant Description
1. Award Purpose: The purpose of this agreement is to eradicate Alb(anoplophora glabripennis) in Ohio by surveying for infested trees, assisting in the removal of infested host trees and high-risk host trees, and the treatment of high-risk host trees. Outreach will be delivered to gain support for program activities and to increase public awareness, which will help with Alb detection.
2. Activities to be performed: Delimitation surveys will be conducted throughout the year. Infested trees will be removed and deregulated as detected. Oversight of contractors conducting surveys, high-risk host tree treatment, property evaluations, or other eradication activities will be provided. The Alb quarantine will be enforced and adjusted as necessary. Outreach activities will be conducted year-round to the public and municipalities.
3. Deliverables and expected outcomes: Semi-annual and annual accomplishment reports with the results of the work to be accomplished will be submitted. Weekly reports will be produced showing information for the reporting week, the year to date, and since the onset of the Alb program. The expected outcome at the end of this project is the eradication of Alb from Ohio.
4. Intended beneficiary(ies): Homeowners; land managers; nursery operators; the lumber, maple sugar, and tourist industries; and consumers of wood products will benefit.
