Grant Description
Application purpose: The awarding of this grant will provide capital and operating assistance to the City of Mobile Alabama public transportation system (The Wave Transit System).
Activities performed: The following activities are to be performed:
Project 1
1) Operating assistance
2) Preventive maintenance
3) Rehabilitation of garage/administration roof and garage bathroom flooring
4) Acquisition of farebox equipment farebox validators
5) Acquisition of shop equipment hydraulic lift
6) IT software upgrade
7) Acquisition of bus stop signage
8) Acquisition of security/surveillance cameras
Project 2
1) ADA complementary paratransit service
Project 3
1) Replacement of three (3) modified vans for mobility assistance program.
Expected outcomes: The City of Mobile AL directly operates the public transportation system (The Wave Transit System) by providing public transportation and complementary paratransit transportation for transit dependent citizens of Mobile Alabama metropolitan area.
Intended beneficiaries: Beneficiaries of this grant includes but is not limited to senior citizens, disabled individuals, transit dependent customers, and individuals choosing to utilize public transportation for their various needs.
