Grant Description
This grant application includes $5,014,400 in FY2020 Section 5339(c) Low-No Discretionary Funds (Discretionary ID#D2020-LWNO-001) for the purchase of battery electric buses and charging infrastructure in the City and Borough of Juneau. Infrastructure will be installed at the main transit facility located at 10099 Bentwood Place, Juneau, AK.

Purpose:
This grant application is requesting FY2020 Section 5339(c) Low-No Discretionary Funds (Discretionary ID#D2020-LWNO-001) for the acquisition of battery-electric buses and charging infrastructure for the City and Borough of Juneau. Infrastructure will be installed at the main transit facility located at 10099 Bentwood Place, Juneau, AK. This project will support the transition of the City and Borough of Juneau's transit fleet to the lowest polluting and most energy efficient transit vehicles and support infrastructure.

Activities to be performed:
This grant will purchase electric buses to replace diesel buses and add associated infrastructure in Juneau, Alaska. This project will support the transition of the City and Borough of Juneau's transit fleet to the lowest polluting and most energy efficient transit vehicles and support infrastructure.

Expected outcomes:
The replacement of diesel buses with electric buses will result in a reduction in emissions and energy consumption for the community of Juneau, Alaska.
