Overview
Grant Description
The overarching objective is to create a shovel-ready roadmap for deploying technically, financially, and environmentally viable energy projects that strengthen sovereignty, reduce reliance on external utilities, and improve economic development opportunities.
The methodology includes three phases:
(1) Assessing generation and storage options, infrastructure, environmental constraints, and legal regulatory considerations to produce a detailed generation options assessment.
(2) Advancing selected concepts to preliminary engineering design with cost estimates and updated financial modeling.
(3) Producing a comprehensive final report and implementation plan, including regulatory steps, funding strategies, and workforce training.
The outcomes will include increased energy sovereignty, competitive energy rates for tribal facilities and potential business tenants, improved grid resilience, and new job creation for tribal members.
The total amount of funding requested is $329,902.
