Grant Description
Description: This agreement provides funding for the operation of the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality's (ODEQ) continuing environmental programs while giving it greater flexibility to address its highest environmental priorities, improve environmental performance, achieve administrative savings, and strengthen the partnership between ODEQ and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This agreement funds state continuing environmental programs for air, radon, hazardous waste management, public water system supervision, underground water source protection, lead-based paint, and toxic substances compliance monitoring.
Activities: The activities to be performed include permitting, enforcement, monitoring inspections, air planning, modeling, and monitoring; radon assessment and mitigation; controlling the generation, transportation, treatment, storage, and disposal of hazardous waste; conducting plan and specification reviews and sanitary surveys of public water systems; monitoring, abating, and controlling underground injection activities; conducting training and certification of lead abatement inspectors; conducting inspections of abatement projects; and purchasing equipment that will test for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) compounds in drinking water.
Subrecipient: No subawards are included in this assistance agreement.
Outcomes: Anticipated deliverables and outcomes include improved air, water, and land quality. Direct beneficiaries of this assistance agreement are the residents and occupants of the state of Oklahoma.
