Grant Description
Description:
This agreement provides funding for the operation of the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services' continuing environmental programs while giving it greater flexibility to address its highest environmental priorities, improve environmental performance, achieve administrative savings, and strengthen the partnership between the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services and the US Environmental Protection Agency.

Activities:
Through this multi-media performance partnership grant, the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services will administer environmental programs for air, water, and waste throughout the state of New Hampshire and direct resources as appropriate to address environmental and public health concerns. The goal is to produce measurable environmental public health results that benefit the citizens of New Hampshire. These activities will allow the recipient to implement a state program of environmental management to monitor, abate, and control air, water, and waste pollution. This will be done by carrying out activities in accordance with the work plan of the grant and the requirements of the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Safe Drinking Water Act, and Solid Waste Disposal Act.

Outcomes:
The work includes outputs and outcomes associated with managing continuing environmental programs, which include activities to protect and maintain air, water, and land. This is achieved through monitoring, using pollution prevention, assessment, and relevant cleanup techniques, permitting, enforcement, standard setting, and/or inspections for the various multi-media programs. Through this multi-media performance partnership grant, the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services will administer environmental programs for air, water, and waste throughout the state of New Hampshire and direct resources as appropriate to address environmental and public health concerns. The goal is to produce measurable environmental public health results that benefit the citizens of New Hampshire.
