Description:
This agreement provides funding under the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) to Ventura County Air Pollution Control District (VCAPCD). The purpose of this grant agreement is to support VCAPCD in updating their continuous PM2.5 monitors, providing real-time air quality data and public health messaging. Specifically, the recipient will purchase, install, and operate two new PM2.5 monitors and upload quality assured data to EPA's Air Quality Systems (AQS) database.
This agreement provides full federal funds in the amount of $159,242.00.
Activities:
The activities include purchasing two PM2.5 monitors to replace older instruments. Additionally, VCAPD will operate integrate the monitors to their system and continue to collect and report quality assured air data.
Subrecipient:
No subawards are included in this assistance agreement.
Outcomes:
The anticipated deliverables include: purchase, installation and operation of two PM2.5 monitors; collecting, analyzing, and reporting quality assured air quality data; and integration of the monitors into VCAPD's existing monitoring network. The expected outcomes include collecting and reporting real-time information of PM2.5 data in the county displayed on AirNow, AQMIS, district website, and forecasted by VCAPCD; timely responses to air quality data requests from the public and other stakeholders; informed public health messaging campaigns and awareness around impact from wildfire smoke with a focus on outdoor agriculture workers.
The intended beneficiaries include all county residents and outdoor agriculture workers within the county.
