Overview
Grant Description
The award's purpose is to implement the Santa Monica Bay National Estuary Program (SMBNEP) Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan (CCMP) in accordance with Clean Water Act Section 320. This grant funds tasks outlined in the annual workplan, including beach and dune restoration, protecting and restoring marine habitat, controlling and preventing sources of water pollution with green infrastructure, and implementing the boater education pollution prevention program.
Anticipated deliverables include updates in semi-annual reports, project website, photos, and National Estuary Program reporting tool. Expected outcomes include completed work to restore kelp beds and beach and dune habitat. Intended beneficiaries include the people who live and recreate in the Santa Monica Bay watershed, as well as the flora and fauna.
This assistance agreement provides full federal funding in the amount of $700,000.
