Overview
Grant Description
The purpose of this agreement is to provide funding for the operation of the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency's (Illinois EPA) continuing environmental programs while giving greater flexibility to address its highest environmental priorities, improve environmental performance, achieve administrative savings, and strengthen the partnership between the Illinois EPA and EPA.
This agreement will fund statewide programs within the Bureaus of Air, Water, and Land. Activities to be performed include, but are not limited to, issuing permits, conducting inspections, evaluating compliance, providing technical assistance, reporting data, monitoring air and water quality, and taking enforcement actions.
Expected outcomes include timely and appropriate enforcement actions, facilities having adequate permits and controls in place, and collecting and reporting quality data, all to support the goal of a cleaner, healthier environment.
The direct beneficiaries of this agreement are the citizens of the state of Illinois.
