Grant Description
Description: This agreement provides funding to the State Water Resources Control Board to fund staff time at the San Francisco Regional Water Quality Control Board (REGIONAL BOARD 2).
This grant will fund staff to specifically work on priorities of EPA's San Francisco Bay Restoration Program.
This work will include providing technical assistance to local governments and other partners who are creating site specific adaptation plans, working with local water agencies to reduce nutrient effluent into the Bay, and evaluating the infill plans in the SF Bay to increase opportunities for the beneficial reuse of sediment for the restoration of wetlands.
This agreement provides full federal funding in the amount of $3,810,452.

Activities: To implement the San Francisco Estuary Partnership Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan (CCMP), as part of this grant the State Water Resources Control Board.
The recipient will use grant funds to work in three areas: 1) Nutrients and harmful algal blooms, 2) Beneficial reuse of soil and sediment, and 3) Technical support for climate adaptation planning.
The grantee will utilize these funds to assist in paying for staff salaries to work in these priority areas.
Subrecipient: No subawards are included in this assistance agreement.
Outcomes: Anticipated deliverables include: technical memos, presentations delivered to project planners and local community based organizations around the SF Bay, and draft edits to the Basin Plan or Basin Plan amendment.
Expected long-term outcomes include: local shoreline adaptation plans developed with assistance from the REGIONAL BOARD 2, the intended beneficiaries of this project are communities affected by water quality and sea level rise around the San Francisco Bay, and the living resources of the San Francisco Bay and its watersheds.
