Grant Description
The purpose of this assistance agreement is to provide support to the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency to implement its nonpoint source management program, focusing on watersheds with water quality impairments caused by polluted run-off from nonpoint sources. Nonpoint source implementation projects include a variety of structural and non-structural best management practices (BMPs), watershed planning, monitoring, technology demonstrations, and a variety of education/outreach programs.
Specific activities to be performed include:
1) Nonpoint source (NPS) program management
2) Implementation of Ohio's NPS management plan
3) Grants management and administration
4) Watershed assessment and NPS TMDL development
5) Lake Erie NPS programming
6) Watershed assistance and support
7) NPS public awareness and education.
All 12 subrecipients recommended for FY21 Section 319(h) project implementation are projected to achieve water quality improvements within the watersheds where the projects will be implemented.
