Grant Description
DESCRIPTION: This agreement provides funding under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act to support the Environmental Finance Center (EFC) at Region 8. The EFCs provide finance-related training, education, and analytical studies to help regulated parties develop solutions to the difficult 'how-to-pay' issues associated with meeting environmental standards. The EFCs educate state, tribal, and local governments and businesses on lowering environmental costs, increasing environmental investments, improving financial capacity, identifying appropriate revenue-generating mechanisms, and evaluating environmental financing options.
ACTIVITIES: The activities include technical assistance and training to disadvantaged, underserved, tribal systems, and other eligible utilities to complete project planning activities and apply for BIL funding.
SUBRECIPIENT: Sub-awards will be provided to state affiliate associations to provide technical assistance to water and wastewater systems in their respective states.
OUTCOMES: The anticipated deliverables include success stories demonstrating outcomes achieved by technical assistance and quarterly and final progress reports. The expected outcomes include reduced costs to utilities and increased capacity and sustainability.
