Project Grant
Overview
Grant Description
This agreement is to an eligible state agency to implement a program of voluntary testing for lead in drinking water at local schools and child care centers. Specifically, the South Dakota Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) plans to initiate volunteer testing of their schools and child care facilities.
SDDENR is partnering with the third-party vendor, 120 Water Audit (120 WA), to implement the lead testing in schools program. This program will take place from fall 2019 through spring 2020.
120 WA will assist SDDENR in the lead testing school program through the use of the 120 WA platform. 120 WA was chosen as the sole-source contractor due to their ability to provide comprehensive services as a 'one-stop' shop for lead testing in schools.
In consultation with 120 WA, SDDENR will conduct outreach with media outlets and local school associations during the enrollment phase. Facilities will collect samples, and 120 WA will offer technical assistance on behalf of SDDENR.
