Grant Description
Description:
This agreement provides funding to City Utilities of Springfield, Missouri to implement its project to install a raw water main as directed in the 2022 Consolidated Appropriations Act or as identified in an approved technical correction if one has been approved for this project.

Activities:
The activities to be performed are installation of approximately 4600 feet of 48' ductile iron pipe in three (3) noncontiguous locations, 5 48' gate valves and 4 36' gate valves. This will complete the 12.25 miles of pipeline that will connect Fellows Lake to Blackman Water Treatment Plant (BWTP) with a second pipeline providing additional raw water conveyance capacity and redundancy to City Utilities' largest water treatment plant.

No subawards are included in this assistance agreement.

Outcomes:
The anticipated deliverables are a reduction in occurrence and severity of interruptions to access to safe and clean water in impacted communities, a reduction in energy use due to completion of a redundant line what will reduce head losses in the system resulting in reduced energy consumption for pumping source water to the treatment plant and provide a reliable source water supply for the customers of City Utilities in Springfield, Missouri.
