Grant Description
Description: The agreement provides funding to the Connecticut Maritime Foundation to replace older diesel engines on marine vessels with new, cleaner engines.
The engine replacements will reduce emissions of diesel particulate matter, nitrogen oxides and other pollutants.
Activities: The activities will include procurement of new marine engines and scrappage of existing engines.
Subrecipient: A subaward will be given to the subrecipients (vessel owners) identified in the work plan.
The activities to be implemented through the subaward entail replacing older diesel marine engines with new, cleaner diesel engines.
The grant will be managed by Connecticut Maritime Foundation who will oversee the implementation of the award.
The vessel owners, as subrecipients, will procure replacement marine diesel engines in compliance with procurement rules, permanently disable and decommission old engines and submit all required documentation to Connecticut Maritime Foundation.
Outcomes: Deliverables include installation of new marine diesel engines and scrappage documentation.
Other outputs include an outreach action plan, a project summary document highlighting the benefits of the project and updated fleet emission inventories.
