Description:
This agreement provides funding to the Town of Newburgh, New York to implement its project for the Colden Park Watermain Replacement Project (Phase III) as directed in the 2023 Consolidated Appropriations Act or as identified in an approved technical correction if one has been approved for this project.
Activities:
The activities to be performed are an upgrade in the Town of Newburgh's water main in order to meet code requirements. The Town of Newburgh's town code requires water main throughout the town to be ductile-iron pipe with a minimum of 8 inches in diameter. The existing 6' asbestos concrete distribution main that serves the Colden Park water system is past its useful life.
Subrecipient:
No subawards are included in this assistance agreement.
Outcomes:
The anticipated deliverables are the replacement of approximately 9,600 LF of 6' ACP water main with 8' ductile iron pipe, the installation of valves at every 800 LF or less, and fire hydrants at every 500 LF or less along the main. These installations will reduce the number of breaks in the water main and bacteria exposure risk for the residents of the Town of Newburgh.
