Grant Description
Description: This agreement provides funding to the Town of Riverhead to implement its project to extend potable water to residents affected by emerging contaminants as directed in both the 2022 and 2023 Consolidated Appropriations Acts.
Activities: The activities to be performed include the extension of public water facilities to residents with private wells impacted by PFAS in the Hamlet of Calverton through the Suffolk County Water Authority (Project Extension No. 94) and the Riverhead Water District (Project Extension No. 95).
Subrecipient: The Town of Riverhead will subaward $3.575 million of the total $5.5 million grant to the Suffolk County Water Authority to implement Public Water Line Extension No. 94.
Outcomes: The anticipated deliverables are extending public water facilities to residential properties, which are expected to lead to clean, safe drinking water for residents impacted by emerging contaminants.
