Description:
This agreement provides funding for the operation of the Washington Department of Ecology's continuing environmental programs while giving it greater flexibility to address its highest environmental priorities, improve environmental performance, achieve savings, and strengthen the partnership between Washington Department of Ecology and EPA. This agreement funds state continuing environmental programs for air and water.
Activities:
The activities to be performed include ones that have been delegated by EPA to administer the Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act that are addressed in the Performance Partnership Agreement. Those activities are funded in part through EPA's Consolidated Performance Partnership Grant.
Subrecipient:
The seven local clean air agencies are subawards of this grant. Their purpose is to successfully implement comprehensive air quality control programs to protect and enhance air quality within their jurisdiction. The project activities must meet the goals of the state and federal Clean Air Acts.
Outcomes:
The anticipated deliverables include joint Ecology and EPA activities related to air quality and water quality. The expected outcomes from this agreement include outputs and outcomes associated with managing continuing environmental programs, which include activities to protect and maintain air and water resources in Washington State. Direct beneficiaries of this program are the citizens of Washington State.
