Grant Description
Description: This agreement provides funding to Kingwood Water Works to implement its Water Intelligence and Security Development for Operational Support of the Military (WISDOM) project as directed in the 2023 Consolidated Appropriations Act or as identified in an approved technical correction if one has been approved for this project.
Activities: The activities to be performed are the construction of a new 160,000 gallon water storage tank with telemetry and a pressure reducing valve station at Camp Dawson; the construction of a new 1.5 million gallon intermediate storage tank in Kingwood; and the construction of a new raw water intake line and Johnson screen on the Cheat River.
Subrecipient: No subawards are included in this assistance agreement.
Outcomes: The anticipated deliverables are two new water storage tanks with telemetry, a pressure reducing valve station and a new raw water intake.
The expected outcomes include the elimination of chronic breaks, leaks and outages, improved system reliability, and an adequate and consistent water supply.
The intended beneficiaries include the population at Camp Dawson and other users of the Kingwood Water Works system.
