Description:
This project aims to integrate biophysical, biogeochemical, engineering, and social science research to advance sustainable water resource management in Missouri.
Activities:
The specific objectives are to 1) enhance the center's organizational and laboratory infrastructure by hiring staff and purchasing equipment, 2) conduct high priority research by deploying advanced water monitoring in the Missouri River watershed and engaging stakeholders to enhance flood resiliency planning, and 3) implement a seed-grant program to fund interdisciplinary research proposed by faculty.
Subrecipient:
No subawards are included in this assistance agreement.
Outcomes:
Deliverables include annual and final reports, as well as the establishment of the Missouri Water Center which will serve as a hub for water knowledge across stakeholders, a site to coordinate large collaborative research grants, and an asset for faculty to conduct research. Intended beneficiaries include state and local agencies in Missouri involved in water supply and quality issues, academics in the region who conduct water-related research, Missouri residents, and farmers that rely on the Missouri River.
