Project Grant
Overview
Grant Description
This agreement provides funding to the Environmental Council of the States (ECOS) in the form of a 5-year cooperative agreement with EPA to provide program support for the implementation of the National Environmental Information Exchange Network (Exchange Network or EN) Grant Program and the joint EPA/ECOS e-Enterprise Initiative.
This program support will enhance the technical capabilities and capacity of EN grant recipients to use and support the Exchange Network. EN is an internet and standards-based, secure information network that facilitates the electronic collection, exchange, and integration of the full range of data that informs the business of environmental protection.
The EN and this ECOS program support will ultimately streamline and modernize environmental management processes and data collection and reporting. This, in turn, will improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and ease of exchanging environmental information within organizations, with the regulated community, the public, and other stakeholders.
