Overview

Grant Description
Fellowships and Scholarships (NIFs): Our goal is to engage, inspire, and motivate graduate/undergraduate students in the process of research and discovery. Our objective is to offer hands-on research and on-campus research opportunities directly relevant to one or more NASA mission directorates through 4 academic-year fellowships, 8 summer graduate fellowships, and 10 on-campus internships. Additionally, we provide 4 summer research opportunities from MSI's (Tougaloo College and partnership with Ohio Space Grant).

Our target is to support at least 40% women and at least 10% under-represented minorities (but hoping to reach the state enrollment level of 21.4%). Through these programs, we directly address STEM engagement objectives 1.1, 1.2, 2.2, and 2.3. In addition, they will provide data for API 18-1 (contributing to performance goal 3.3.3).
