CFDA Narrative Excerpt: The purpose of USAID’s Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA) is to provide life-saving humanitarian assistance—including food, water, shelter, emergency healthcare, and other critical aid—to the world’s most vulnerable and hardest-to-reach population affected by natural, man-made, and complex disaster. BHA is the lead federal coordinator for international disaster assistance, harnessing the expertise and unique capacities of other U.S. government, non-U.S. entities, and public international organizations to effectively respond to natural disasters, complex crises by providing emergency and food assistance around the world.

Recipient: Relief International (RI)

This award will provide financial support to Relief International for a program entitled, “Protection and Health Assistance to Syria Together IV (PHAST IV)” in Syria.

The Theory of Change (TOC): If conflict and natural disaster-affected populations in NWS have inclusive, gender and age-appropriate access to (1) lifesaving quality basic and specialized healthcare services including physical rehabilitation and mental health, (2) critical integrated and specialized nutrition services, and (3) quality gender-based violence (GBV) prevention and response services for survivors and women and girls at risk, as well as child protection (CP) and psychosocial support (PSS) services, then the suffering of those populations will be alleviated and their resilience in the face of protracted conflict and displacement will be improved.

The total number of beneficiaries that will be supported under this award is 591,233.
