Overview
Grant Description
The Uganda Housing Modification Study (UHMS) seeks to explore housing modification as a malaria control intervention, and to assess the degree to which it may offer protection in moderate to high malaria endemicity settings. The study will generate knowledge about the effectiveness of housing modification in reducing epidemiologic indicators of malaria incidence, prevalence, and burden and entomologic measures in settings of moderate to high malaria endemicity.
The purpose of the "Enhanced Entomological Surveillance" is to increase the scale of entomological monitoring activities, build the capacity of districts to conduct this monitoring, and strengthen the link between clinical and entomological surveillance. This activity further seeks to build the capacity of District Vector Control Officers (VCOs) to carry out mosquito collection and basic entomological analysis throughout the country in coordination with other partners working on entomology.
