Cooperative Agreement

Overview

Grant Description
Purpose: TMAC offers this proposal to continue serving as the MEP center for the state of Texas providing support and services for small to medium manufacturers that accelerate their profitability and competitiveness.

Activities to be performed: TMAC is developing an ecosystem of resources to address the manufacturing challenges hindering growth and profitability of the Texas industrial base.

These resources include a focus in three key areas: workforce development, supply chain resiliency and optimization, and the implementation of advanced technologies.

The ecosystem also provides easily accessible technical assistance and financial resources by connecting the vast NIST MEP national resources with the immediate needs of Texas manufacturers.

TMAC and its strategic partners will continue to utilize state, federal, and local resources to make economic growth more feasible for small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

Expected outcomes: TMAC will function as a high-performing MEP center, meeting both the survey response rate measure and the performance score requirements.

Provide services that generate significant impact to manufacturers within the state of Texas to drive profitability and growth.

Intended beneficiaries: The beneficiaries of the work performed by TMAC include SMEs, the statewide manufacturing ecosystem, the manufacturing economy for the state, and Texans through improved standard of living and greater resiliency of manufacturing and manufacturing-related jobs in the state.

Subrecipient activities: TMAC consists of seven regions including six subrecipients across the state.

Each subrecipient provides localized support to manufacturers in their service area.

Subrecipients also foster regional partnerships, serve on regional boards or committees, and ensure TMAC effectively addresses the unique needs of manufacturers within their immediate area.

Current TMAC subrecipients are the University of Texas at El Paso, University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley, Texas Tech University, University of Houston-Clear Lake, Lamar University, and Southwest Research Institute.
