Overview
Grant Description
Purpose: This project will develop and test a framework for harmonizing UAS training and credentialing services. This will be applied to both operators and systems, and scale to cover federal, state, and local needs.
Activities to be performed: This project will consist of three main, interdependent tasks:
1) Staffing: This task will center on providing the human resources needed to provide leadership, oversight, and support.
2) Technology: This task will focus on procuring the UAS technology, virtual technology, and learning management systems infrastructure needed to deliver the training.
3) Instruction: This task will build out a network of nationally recognized UAS experts to design and deliver the training.
Expected outcomes: This project will improve the ability of first responders to safely integrate UAS into operations at pace with the wide array of ever-evolving technology transforming how federal, state, and local entities conduct operations. It will also concurrently improve trust between collaborating agencies and the public.
Intended beneficiaries: First responders are the primary intended beneficiaries.
