Grant Description
The purpose of this award is to fund a FY22-23 Federal-State Partnership for Intercity Passenger Rail Northeast Corridor (FSP-NEC) grant for the East River Tunnel Rehabilitation (ERT) project.
The project includes final design and construction to completely rehabilitate lines 1 and 2 of the ERT.
The project will remediate damage from Superstorm Sandy, returning lines 1 and 2 to a state of good repair and ensuring that passenger trains can continue to operate safely and efficiently through the tunnels.
