Project Grant
Overview
Grant Description
This is a full life cycle project (excluding PE) that will eliminate two at-grade crossings, one vehicle crossing and one pedestrian trail crossing, at the intersection of Galloway Street and Union Pacific Railroad line in the city of Eau Claire.
The project will also replace the existing crossings with a grade-separated overpass, which will connect two segments of the Chippewa River Regional Pedestrian Bicycle Trail that is currently divided by Galloway Street.
This grade separation will eliminate a significant rail crossing in the downtown area, improve travel time for vehicle commuters, pedestrians, and bicyclists, and improve safety.
The project will also create pedestrian and bicycle access from the Opportunity Zone neighborhood of North Side Hill into other neighborhoods like Boyd Park.
