Overview
Grant Description
The project will begin the preliminary engineering (PE) and development of environmental documentation for the rail grade improvements at Churchill Avenue, Meadow Drive, and Charleston Road.
The PE and environmental phase will identify preferred alternatives for each rail grade crossing and conduct the necessary environmental review to ensure the project meets sustainability goals in accordance with CEQA and NEPA requirements.
The City of Palo Alto is working with Caltrain and VTA (Valley Transit Authority) to realize the goals of the project.
At the end of this project, the project will determine the preferred alternatives at each of these three crossings with community input and outreach.
The project will have plans developed for preliminary design and begin required environmental process for the development of the environmental documents in accordance with CEQA and NEPA to review environmental impacts and develop mitigation measures.
