Grant Description
The objective of this project is to improve the efficiency, safety, and capacity of the grantees FGA 348-mile mainline to meet current and future freight demand in North Florida. Through the improvements in this project, the grantee will rehabilitate approximately 120 miles of track to complete the restoration of 240 miles of the FGA mainline to FRA Class III standards supporting 40 mph freight operations.
Additionally, the grantee will rehabilitate eleven sidings and multiple grade crossings under this project to improve the efficiency and safety of the entire 348-mile mainline between Pensacola and Baldwin, FL.
