Overview

Grant Description
The project funds Amtrak to support the construction of the Portal Northbridge Project. The existing Portal Bridge will be replaced with a modern structure that does not need to swing open to allow for passing maritime traffic, and restores reliability and state of good repair to this critical segment of the Northeast Corridor.

Replacing the bridge with a new fixed, high-level structure will eliminate the risk of further delays and malfunctions of this critical rail infrastructure asset.
