Grant Description
This project will reconfigure West Shoreline Drive to remove a roadway barrier and improve access and connectivity between downtown Long Beach and existing public space.

The project will connect approximately 5.5 acres of park space, create new bicycle and pedestrian amenities, plus divert highway traffic from residential streets to major arterials.
Funding Goals
THE PURPOSE OF THIS NOTICE IS TO SOLICIT APPLICATIONS FOR RECONNECTING COMMUNITIES PILOT (RCP) PROGRAM GRANTS. FUNDS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR (FY) 2022 RCP PROGRAM ARE TO BE AWARDED ON A COMPETITIVE BASIS FOR PROJECTS THAT RECONNECT COMMUNITIES BY REMOVING, RETROFITTING, OR MITIGATING HIGHWAYS OR OTHER TRANSPORTATION FACILITIES THAT CREATE BARRIERS TO COMMUNITY CONNECTIVITY, INCLUDING TO MOBILITY, ACCESS, OR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT.
