Project Grant
Overview
Grant Description
Award purpose
The project will build a drive down float and vehicle bridge as well as procure two new float mounted electric cranes with maximum lift capacity of 3 tons.
Activities to be performed
The project will expand an existing timber dock by adding a 60 by 70 foot widened section attached to the pile supported approach dock.
This widened section will serve as the connection point for a new approximately 17 foot wide by 140 foot long steel vehicular transfer bridge leading from the shore.
At the terminating end of the transfer bridge an approximately 48 foot wide by 120 foot long vehicle accessible drive down float will be installed and equipped with two float mounted electric cranes with maximum lift capacity of 3 tons.
The float will feature a timber deck supported by steel flotation pontoons enabling direct freight transfer between moored vessels and transport vehicles.
Additionally essential utilities including potable water, fire suppression, power, and lighting will be extended down the bridge to service the new float infrastructure.
The project will be carried out in two separate components.
Component 1: Project management to include project planning, project permitting including costs to complete NEPA, engineering and design, construction administration, and inspection.
Component 2: Construction to include mobilization and demobilization, demolition and disposal, construction survey, domestic water system, fire suppression system, widened dock approximately 60 by 70, transfer bridge approximately 17 by 140, bridge support, float bridge abutment assembly, drive down float approximately 48 by 120, float anchor pile, approximately 24 float mooring pile frames, dock support vertical piles approximately 16, dock support batter piles approximately 16, bridge abutment vertical piles approximately 16, bridge abutment batter piles approximately 16, float transition apron pile anodes, two electric cranes with maximum lift capacity of 3 tons, electrical system, power, and lighting.
