Grant Description
Award purpose
The project includes construction of a new approximately 48,000 square foot cross dock warehouse and related site improvements on a roughly 10 acre site.
Activities to be performed
The project consists of the following two components.
Component 1: Engineering design, bidding and construction management, site investigations, geotechnical surveys, topographic surveys.
Engineering design: Preliminary through final design plans and specifications.
Bid document development: Advertising, evaluation and award.
Engineering support during construction: Third party materials testing, HVAC testing and balancing.
Punch list item review and reconciliation.
Project closeout.
Component 2: Cross dock facility construction.
General conditions such as providing and maintaining an office trailer on site, contractors work area security, electric power during construction, site maintenance and dust control.
Bonds and insurance.
Warehouse building: Construct an approximately 48,000 square foot warehouse that will include three chilled storage bays approximately 12,000 square feet each with storage racks, motorized overhead doors for personnel and equipment traverse between the bays with approximately 10 truck docks per chilled bay.
Each truck dock shall be equipped with a motorized overhead door, a dock leveler, a dock seal, a refrigerated container trailer, electrical connection and loading dock signaling.
A workshop office area of approximately 4,000 square feet with men's and women's restrooms, enclosed office spaces for workstations, truck check-in and quality control.
Breakrooms, training rooms, LAN room, forklift charging stations and 2-4 truck docks, each truck dock equipped with a motorized overhead door, dock leveler, a dock seal, a refrigerated container trailer, electrical connection and loading dock signaling.
An agricultural inspection center of approximately 8,000 square feet with men's and women's restrooms, enclosed office spaces for workstations, LAN room, agricultural lab, agricultural disposal room, breakroom, forklift charging stations and 5-6 truck docks, each truck dock equipped with a motorized overhead door, dock leveler, a dock seal, a refrigerated container trailer, electrical connection and loading dock signaling.
Site improvements: Site preparation including grading improvements and drainage, underground storm piping on an approximately 10 acre site.
Additional improvements including irrigation, signage, fencing, paving, sewer and electrical utilities, area lighting, striping for truck circulation and parking improvements.

Cargo volume TEUs: Economic competitiveness and opportunity.
The total number of TEUs moved per year in the area defined by the project study area.
Quarterly.
Intended beneficiary: Port Freeport.
