Grant Description
Award Purpose: The project will expand the ports fleet of specialized container yard equipment. The equipment to be purchased includes two 40 ton loaded container handlers, three 10 ton empty container handlers, five 5.5 ton forklifts, one 180 foot boom lift, nine container yard tractor trailers, and two 40 plug mobile reefer generators.

Activities to be performed: The project is for the purchase of equipment with the following specifications, or of similar specifications based on market availability. Two 40 ton loaded container handlers: lift capacity 80000 lbs., stacking height must be able to stack 4 high of 9 6 ISO container, engine diesel tier 3 or better, spread open from 20 40 45. Three 10 ton empty container handlers: lift capacity 15000 lbs., stacking height must be able to stack 4 high of 9 6 ISO container, engine diesel tier 3 or better, spreader single lift with vertical twist lock, open from 20 40 4 5. Five 5.5 ton forklifts: lift capacity 11000 lbs., height lowered must be able to enter a standard 8 6 ISO container, engine diesel tier 3 or better, fork adjustment side shift individual and dual. One 180 foot boom lift: platform height 180 ft, platform capacity restricted 1000 lbs., platform capacity unrestricted 500 lbs. Nine container yard tractor trailers: engine diesel tier IV, rear axle 42000 lbs minimum, front axle 12000 lbs minimum, fifth wheel 80000 lbs minimum, lifting cylinder hydraulic 63000 lbs minimum. Two 40 plug mobile reefer generators: receptacle plug model 40 plug.

Deliverables: Expected outcomes within economic competitiveness TEU movements over the project study area.

Intended beneficiary: Port Authority of Guam.
