Grant Description
Award Purpose: The project funds several related infrastructure improvements at the port. The improvements modernize the port's material handling equipment, repair damaged facilities, and upgrade site conditions in the port's bulk yard.

Specific work includes:
- Adding concrete surface to the existing laydown area to create a 30,000 square foot pad
- Replacing three cable mast radial stackers
- Replacing a 90-foot conveyor and reclaim hopper
- Utility work associated with equipment installations
- Rebuilding the roofs on two storage domes
- Replacing a truck scale
- Procuring three ground conveyors
- Purchasing four generators
- Purchasing and installing a canopy that will enable the port to handle weather-sensitive cargoes.

Activities to be performed:
Component 1: Dome Roof Replacements
- This component will rebuild the roofs on two storage domes, with Dome A being 100 feet in diameter and Dome B being 108 feet in diameter.
- Reconstruction of the concrete foundations and walls will include the utilization of galvanized steel frame and tarp covers.

Component 2: Radial Stackers, Conveyor, Hopper, Electrical
- Replacement of three cable mast radial stackers
- Replacement of a 90-foot conveyor and reclaim hopper
- Replacement of electrical connections associated with the three cable mast radial stackers and the sand yard conveyor radial hopper.

Component 3: Ground Conveyors, Hoppers
- Procurement of three thirty-inch wide ground conveyors to allow product storage expansion
- Purchase of one additional radial stacker which will be used with the three ground conveyors to expand storage capabilities.

Component 4: Generators
- The purchase of four generators for backup power in case of a power outage.

Component 5: Scale Demo Replacement
- Demolition and removal of an existing non-working steel truck scale foundation
- Purchase and installation of an 11-foot wide by 90-foot long truck scale with a concrete deck.

Component 6: Canopy
- Purchase and installation of a new canopy.

Component 7: Concrete Hardening
- Hardening the laydown area to a 30,000 square foot concrete pad
- Concrete hardening for storage in the bulk yard and creation of a paved ingress/egress easement area for the bulk yard.

Deliverables and Expected Outcomes:
1. Within the Freight Movements Measurement:
- Quarterly comparison of prior and current year bulk cargo transshipment activity for inbound barge cargo destined for bulk commodity storage facility via Reiver Berth and cargo movement out of the storage facility via truck.

2. Within the Cargo Storage Measurement:
- Quarterly analysis of prior and current year stockpile storage inventory tonnage by specific bulk commodity within the project study area.

Intended Beneficiary: Paducah McCracken County Riverport Authority.
