Grant Description
Award purpose
This project will repair approximately 590 feet of the Boat Haven main breakwater.
The rehabilitation will be designed to tie into the adjoining U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) authorized structure.
Activities to be performed
This project will rehabilitate approximately 590 feet of the Boat Haven main breakwater.
The project includes the following component:
Component 1: Construction and construction management.
Repair approximately 590 feet of the Boat Haven main breakwater.
Re-grade the sand core and add additional rock protection to the damaged and eroded area to achieve the minimum design coverage depth.
All new rock placement and excavation work is anticipated to occur above the 2 Mean Lower Low Water (MLLW) tide line and within the original breakwater footprint.
Some repositioning of existing riprap may occur below the 2 tide line to ensure a stable base for adding the additional riprap.

Expected outcomes from Schedule G, Page 10 of the grant agreement:
Measure vessel calls.
Category and description:
Measurement: Total vessel calls per year measures the number of vessels calling to the project study area.
Frequency: Quarterly.
Measure reportable events.
Category and description:
Total number of reportable events per year.
A reportable event is defined as a safety or security event occurring in the project study area (terminal, berth, etc.) that results in one or more of the following conditions:
A fatality confirmed within 30 days of the event.
An injury requiring immediate medical attention away from the scene for one or more persons.
Property damage equal to or exceeding $25,000.
Collisions involving vehicles or vessels.
An evacuation for life safety reasons.
Measurement frequency: Quarterly.
Intended beneficiary: Port of Port Townsend.
Subrecipient activities: None.
