Grant Description
The project will convert a vacant approximately 3.5 acre gravel yard into a multimodal bulk storage facility adjacent to the primary bulk cargo operations. The project will construct an approximately 84,000 square foot bulk warehouse with more than an acre of concrete storage surrounding the warehouse.
Activities to be performed include:
Element 1: Site preparation, excavation, and disposal of existing grade material. Earthwork grading, relocation of storm sewer line, extension of electrical service, and removal of abandoned utility service lines.
Element 2: Engineering design and support related to the construction of a pre-engineered metal building and exterior concrete pad, to be constructed in accordance with bulk load specifications.
Element 3: Construction administration, management, observation, material testing, and inspections.
Element 4: Construction of an 84,000 square foot pre-engineered metal building, with concrete foundation, concrete slab on grade, insulation, mechanical, electrical, 4 man doors, 4 overhead doors, internal and external lighting, and bollards. Construction of a 41,410 square foot concrete pad, constructed in accordance with bulk weight load specifications.
Deliverables and expected outcomes include improvements in gross tons cargo storage and vessel calls for a 3-year reporting period above the current baseline.
