Overview
Grant Description
Purpose - The project will consolidate department activities that are not currently located in Temple Hall and provide additional state-of-the-art teaching and research laboratories.
Activities to be performed - Temple Hall will be expanded by approximately 72,383 square feet while also renovating approximately 133,310 square feet of the current space. Spaces will include teaching and research labs, academic support, student study, collaboration areas, and departmental offices. Space dedicated to student success and community partnering will be included.
Expected outcomes - The building and addition will provide academic space for 75 faculty/staff, 100 graduate students, and 2,400 STEM majors. It is estimated that 10,000 students in all will use the building regularly while taking science general education lectures and labs.
Intended beneficiaries - The public, staff, and students will benefit from the improved facility. Temple Hall is located on the Missouri State University campus. Missouri State University is a public academic institution. Three departments (Biology, Chemistry, Geography, Geology, and Planning) will occupy the building.
