Grant Description
THE SELKIRK WATER AND WILDLIFE FOREST LEGACY PROJECT WILL ALLOW THE PURCHASE A CONSERVATION EASEMENT ON 1,305 ACRES OF PRIVATELY OWNED FORESTLANDS AS PART OF THE FOREST LEGACY PROGRAM. THIS IS THE FIRST PHASE IN A MULTI-PHASED PROJECT, LOCATED IN BONNER COUNTY, JUST 15 MINUTES FROM SANDPOINT. THIS FORESTLAND IS HIGHLY THREATENED FOR CONVERSION TO NON-FOREST USES. CONSERVING THIS PROPERTY WILL HELP PROTECT IMPORTANT WILDLIFE HABITAT AND THE HEADWATERS TO COMMUNITY AND RECREATIONAL WATERWAYS.
