Project Grant
Overview
Grant Description
The project is a priority because it will reduce hazardous fuels along private lands and critical transportation routes, thereby protecting lives, property, and watersheds while improving emergency response capacity for communities directly adjacent to Interstate 90, a major east-west transportation corridor.
By addressing hazardous fuels on private lands and linking treatments to adjacent state and federal projects, the work will also strengthen cross boundary collaboration and enhance the effectiveness of suppression strategies.
Treatments will create defensible space, support long term forest resilience, and ensure that local communities are better prepared to withstand and recover from wildfire events.
In addition, the work directly supports the United States Forest Service mission and advances national directives, including the Presidents Executive Order, to prioritize forest management and reduce wildfire risk at scale.
